Bob Sanders | Sanders played defensive back for the Iowa Hawkeyes from 2000 to 2003. He ranks seventh in career tackles with 348. In 2001 Sanders had 25 tackles in a game against Indiana, which is the fourth best single game total at Iowa. Sanders also led the nation in forced fumbles and led the Big Ten in recovered fumbles. In his senior year at Iowa Sanders was named second team All-American. Sanders was the 44th overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft, he went to the Indianapolis Colts.

In 2005 he had 48 tackles and 8.5 sacks and played well enough that the Saints did not re-sign Darren Howard thus making Smith the starter opposite Charles Grant for the 2006 season.
