DANA. ANDREWS. That is all. No, but in seriousness, my love for Dana Andrews only grows. This was a childhood favorite of mine, and it was wonderful to revisit it for the first time in years. Every single lead is amazing, and it's a reminder that Vincent Price was super dapper as a young man. Also? I'd kill to look like Gene Tierney. And to have the genius of Otto Preminger. I mean, come on.
(1944) At first this movie doesn't seem anything like the nerve rattler it eventually becomes. Almost lighthearted. Some may think the brother and sister are unusually close. Doesn't matter because you won't be thinking about that once the ghost plot kicks in. It turns out to be one of the best ghost flicks for honest shivers. Starring Ray Milland, Gail Russell, Ruth Hussey and Donald Crisp.
