Corn husk pockets perfect for foraging!!! (Avian Avenue) Good idea to make them work for their food.

Corn husk pockets for foraging. My Rudy loves tearing stuff up, I think he'd really like these. Will try on Binky and Peanut.

Make your own foraging toy. Just need a pine or balsa block, drill, and treats.

Super Easy and all your birds will love it!

Obviously without sunflower seeds but it's a awesome idea.

interesting foraging toy... remove the straws to drop the treat down to the feeding hole... the base of a clear plastic tube can be pinched closed, as this one is, by placing the end in boiling water to soften it then flattening / pinching it down

Would be a good idea to hide the litter tray !

Have a unused space under stairs - or a nook - and also have cats? Why not do something like this, and put their litter box in there (just don't forget the door handle to open it) design-for-pets

Travel Crate Idea

I also put a manzanita perch low on the cage door. I hooked her toys and some millet in her kennel. She goes in on her out of curiosity. We pack her large travel cage for her at our destination.

The orientation of the beads don't matter, just push them in. The holes aren't drilled all the way through. This is a one-sided…

Food foraging bird toy

A variation of the shish ka bob. Only I use my large stainless steel Critter Ka-Bob (pictured in the middle) minus the wood chews, instead of the bamboo skewers :)

Hot weather making fresh foods you offer to your birds wilt, become limp or rubbery? Try floating them in water! They stay fresher longer, making them more appetizing, plus birds like the added challenge of "bobbing" for their foods. I just finished writing an article on this very topic for Australian Aviary Life that will appear in the next issue. Try it! Your birds will love you for it. I know mine do.
