Techniques of stitching
Scots Thistle Embroidered
1. Outer prickles in chevron stitch 2. Reflexed prickles in short arcs of snake stitch, lighter above, darker below 3. Infill around the prickles with short straight stitches and then over stitch with fine straight stitches to extend each prickle 4. Purple head: First, long straight stitches, then overlay with floating embroidery. Referene techniques in any of my books.
