Welcome to the Cook Islands 🌺
In the Cook Islands we greet visitors with a friendly smile and a garland of sweet smelling flowers 🌺 When travellers would return home via the sea they would often smell of their journey 🌊 when they would disembark their boats 🛥️ those on land would put flower garlands on them to take away the salty smell and have them bask in the smells on the land 🏝️ This process is called "kiriti marotai" 😍 If you recieve a flower garland just know our people are welcoming you to our little paradise 🌺

Secluded Coves, Atiu
Atiu is well known as an eco-lovers paradise, It is over 8 million years old, our 3rd largest island and is one big adventure playground, ancient and unspoiled. Its beaches have virtually no one on them, you'll find hidden coves that make for the perfect picnic spot or a scene to take in the salty scents of the sea breeze. 📸 poevaigarnier [IG]

Getting Around, Rarotonga
Getting around the Cook Islands is easy! There's only one main road that circles the whole of Rarotonga with no traffic lights and just two roundabouts. A great option to take in the sights is to take the public bus 🚌 There are two buses that circle the island of Rarotonga; Clockwise and Anti-clockwise. The buses will stop anywhere along the main road. All you have to do is smile and wave them down. 👋🏻 📸 @awaywiththesteiners[IG]
