PARC ZOOLOGIQUE ET FORESTIER - Wander along a network of paths through gardens of native shrubs and trees, cactus and forest with a changing backdrop of sea views in the distance and native species such as the flightless "Cagou", a much loved New Caledonian bird and an unofficial national symbol. Its call sounds like a dog barking. It mates for life and females have one baby a year.
BAIE DES CITRONS - The strip has some neat shops tucked between an amazing line of restaurants. Wander along, join all the other people enjoying the atmosphere, visit the ice-cream bar then pick up your spot on the beach.
PLACE DES COCOTIERS- This is the heart of the city. The square slopes gently from east to west and at the top is a band rotunda, a famous landmark dating back to the late 1800s. The place is the perfect spot to watch the world go by. Near the band rotunda there is a popular pitch and a giant chess board. Down the other end it is like a lush botanical garden, with palms and large spreading trees.
AQUARIUM- A state-of-the-art aquarium where everything is natural; saltwater, sunlight and a multitude of different fish. Discover a New Caledonian lagoon and the brilliance of a coral reef and its inhabitants: angel fish, napoleons, gorgonia, striped fish, fluorescent corals and a live prehistoric nautilus.
NOUMEA SEGWAY ADVENTURE - Take short transfer to Anse Vata Beach for a safety briefing and to grasp the basic principles on your Segway test run. Once comfortable, your adventure begins. Visit a local chocolate shop "Tonton Jules" at Lemon Bay Beach. Taste from an assortment of chocolates and perhaps purchase some goodies to take home. Enjoy your Segway trip back to Anse Vata.
TJIBAOU CULTURAL CENTRE- It was designed by world famous architect Renzo Piano and named in honour of the late Kanak leader, Jean Marie Tjibaou. Hear fascinating tales of Kanak myths and folklore on a guided walk through the shaded, flora-lined pathway leading to three imposing, traditional Melanesian huts from different regions. Within the main area, a guide will introduce the various exhibition rooms housing precious ritual masks and costumes, totem poles and sculptures.
STAND UP PADDLE AT KUENDU BEACH - On arrival to the Kuendu Beach Resort, your English speaking instructor will provide the necessary equipment, knowledge and training and you’ll be a pro in no time. The Noumea lagoon is a World Heritage listed site and the second largest Barrier Reef in the world, making this an unforgettable experience. Once your hour of paddle boarding is over, you have full access to the resort’s kayaks and stunning beach.

AMEDEE ISLAND - Catch a glimpse of the island’s coral reefs and large sea turtles from the glass bottom of a scenic vessel. Enjoy white, sandy beaches with plenty of shade, pathways criss-crossing the island, a children’s playground and crystal-clear water full of colourful coral and fish. There’s traditional entertainment as you indulge in a banquet island style lunch. After lunch, join in a coconut tree climbing demonstration. Bring your passport and get it stamped on Amedee Island!
Noumea Train - Tchou Tchou - Amedee Island
THE TCHOU TCHOU TRAIN - Travel through the city centre and up to Notre Dame de Pacific lookout point. View old residential buildings and colonial houses at Faubourg Blanchot. Onto Cote Blanche is a favourite spot for walking and jogging, then continue to Ouen Toro Lookout. Lastly, visit Anse Vata Beach and Lemon Bay Beach, passing the new residential areas and marinas before returning to the city.
