Meningoort Homestead, Bookaar (190km W of Melbourne). Original run taken up by Peter McArthur & Nicholas Cole 1839, divided 1842 into Meningoort (McArthur) and West Cloven Hills (Cole); their families still own both properties. In 1851 McArthur built a stone house and outbuildings on the slopes of an extinct volcano; in 1886 it was integrated into a large bluestone Italianate homestead by Melbourne architect Charles D'Ebro. It has been meticulously maintained in near 1880s condition.
