Isis was the consort and sister of Osiris, and played a major role in Egyptian mythology. Her son, Horus, later became king of the gods after Osiris's death. A popular legend is that, when Seth killed Osiris and scattered his body parts when she was away, Isis found every piece but one that was eaten by a fish.
