M6 Crane fire - 12. October 2017 Another crane fire occurred this morning on a UK motorway, when a 750 tonne All Terrain crane caught fire on the northbound side of the M6 in Cumbria. The crane, a Liebherr LTM1750 belongs to Ainscough Crane Hire. The fire closed both sides of the motorway between junctions 36 and 39 for some time while the fire was extinguished.
