HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF NOT GETTING SICK
Before all the increased worries and scares of getting sick with COVID-19, I started writing this blog post. This was almost a month ago. I was upset because I spent a day of my President’s Day weekend home with a fever. I easily wanted to blame my students…or even more the parents. You see, this school year I have been sick almost every single month with some sort of cold. It was usually a few days after I notice one or more of my students sick while at school. #parents #school #sick #health

HOW TO GET YOUR CHILD TO WANT TO READ
One of the biggest concerns that I hear from with parents is hard is to get their child to read. As a parent and a teacher, of a son, who self-proclaims they hate reading. HOW TO BUILD CLASSROOM CULTURE
The teaching profession 79% white. I know what it feels like to be the “first” or the “only” in various scenarios in districts that I worked in – except in my classroom. With being the minority in my profession, I learned how to adapt and assimilate to work with the majority. But as I taught with my white teachers for over 10 years, I noticed one thing…they have been slow to adapt to their diverse classroom. Years ago when I did student teaching, my cooperating teacher had me observe classroom rules, routines, and procedures from a variety of teachers. This was one of the single most important things she had me do.
