FORT LAUDERDALE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (FLIFF) was founded in 1986 an as ‘the Greater Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival’, and is held annually from late October – mid November and reels out over 200 films from around the globe. During the festival, films are divided into the following sidebars: Competition Films, World Films, American Independents, Documentaries, Shorts, Sunshine Celluloid, Children’s Films, Gay and Lesbian Films, and Retrospective and Tribute Films.

SAN FRANCISCO FILM FESTIVAL (SFIFF) runs every year from late April to early May. Founded in 1957, SFIFF is the longest-running film festival in the Americas. Held each spring for two weeks, the International is an extraordinary showcase of cinematic discovery and innovation. SFIFF features some 150 films and live events with more than 100 filmmakers in attendance every year, and nearly two dozen awards presented for cinematic excellence.

THE PANAFRICAN FILM AND TV FESTIVAL OF OUAGADOUGOU (FESPACO), is Africa’s largest film festival, which runs for a week every 2 years, 2 weeks after the last Saturday in February, in Burkina Faso’s capitol, Ougadougou. Fespaco began in 1969 and has been a big deal for African film since the 80′s, in fact, many people consider it to be Africa’s Oscars.

CINEQUEST FILM FESTIVAL (CQFF) runs from late February to Early March. Cinequest remains one of the last big festival bastions for the discovery of new and emerging film artists. CQFF presents a dynamic 13-day event of 200 international films with over 600+ film artists, technologists, and professionals from 44 countries in attendance.

INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL OF INDIA The IFFA runs anualy from mid – late November in New Delhi. Since its beginnings in 1952 the IFFI has been the biggest event of its type in India. Subsequent IFFI’s were held in New Delhi. In 2004 the IFFI was moved to Goa. Since then the IFFI has been an annual event and competitive. The festival was  founded in 1952, and is one of the most significant film festivals in Asia.
