Revontulet, Northern Lights large glass bowl
Revontulet, Northern Lights style large glass bowl Finland Circa 1970's The bowl is about 20 cm or 8" at the highest and about 33 cm or 13" at the widest. The base is is about 13 cm or 5⅛" across. This bowl is unsigned but it looks very much like a Humppila bowl possibly designed by Tauno Wirkkala. *Note that in the book Smoke & Ice, this design is attributed to Kristall Hoganas Glasbruk (made in Finland). Some online forums debate if this was still made by Humppila for export or under licence to Hoganas Glasbruk and still made in Finland. It is believed that the textured bottom were the Hoganas Glasbruk and the official Humppila was either plain or signed. It is beautiful and reflects the light like ice. Good vintage condition, little sign of wear. No chips or cracks. * * Note-There i
